Debayan’s fascination with castles began early on as a young boy growing up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Known as the ‘City of Lakes and Palaces,’ Jabalpur’s rich heritage and architecture sparked Debayan’s imagination.

He nurtured his interest in history and old-world structures during his school days when he was an active athlete and footballer. The beautiful gothic Christ Church Cathedral and Madan Mahal Fort fed his curiosity to learn more about medieval times.

After completing his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Lovely Professional University, Debayan set his sights on gaining international experience. He moved to the UK and carved an impressive career at the prestigious University of York as an E-Learning Support Officer and Academic Officer.

Beyond his 9-5, Debayan pursued his passion for travel with gusto. He has explored over 168 cities across the globe, collecting passport stamps from far and wide. From majestic mountaintops to medieval fortresses, Debayan has witnessed many of the world’s most iconic castles first-hand during his adventures.

A photography enthusiast, Debayan captures his travel memories through his lens. His portfolio includes striking images of Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, Eilean Donan in Scotland, and many more architectural marvels.

Back home, Debayan shares his knowledge and global experiences as an educator. He has empowered over 200,000 students on Udemy through his specialized e-learning courses focused on IT, software development, and augmented reality.

Though he has travelled far and wide, Debayan takes pride in his Indian roots. He brings his unique blend of technical skills, global experiences, and passion for history to all his pursuits. Even today, whether travelling or teaching, you can always find him weaving in a story or two about the glorious castles of yore.
